Texas 2009: Commerce Street, Dallas: The Dallas Telephone Pioneer Museum is Closed Forever

The Dallas Telephone Pioneer Museum is Closed Forever

The internets had told me of a Telephone Pioneer Museum in Dallas. When I reached the address, it was blocked off with construction. I eventually made my way to another building entrance. At the security desk, I asked how to get to the Telephone Pioneer Museum. He said it was gone. He may have said it was "long gone." I pointed at the construction. "So, even when this is done, the museum isn't coming back?" No, it wasn't. On the flight back home to San Francisco a few days later, the airline showed a movie "Yes Man". It's a kooky romance and one of the kooky activities: visiting a Telephone Pioneer Museum. But not the one in Dallas, because that one is gone. As of 2009, the best telephone museum I'd visited was still the one in Albuquerque. I could only hope it was still around.
