: New: Lowell vs Reality

You may recall that in the most recent California gubernatorial primary, I voted for Lowell Darling. He had the best plan for fixing California's revenue situation: if elected governor, he'd do nothing until the legislature fixed the 2/3-vote-to-raise taxes thing. (It's kind of sad that a conceptual artist put the best plan forward. It's kind of like when you find out that folks on 4chan handled Cablegate better than the USA Department of Defense did.)

You might wonder: hey, how did that campaign go? Fortunately, someone made a short documentary film: Lowell vs Reality. You can see where Arnie smoked cigars—no smoking allowed in the state capitol building, of course. Watch a politician carefully steer around saying that California needs higher property taxes. Hear candid candidate advice on sphincter control in public speaking. Darling is an artist; see an artist's idea for a new Governor's Seal of California.
