: New: Happy American Censorship Day

If you use the internet, you probably want to visit http://americancensorship.org/. USA legislators want to set up China's Great Firewall in the USA, urged on by copyright holders screaming about pirates. China's system started as a way to block "indecent" material, but it wasn't long before it was also blocking news about corrupt officials. It's cliché to say that there's stuff that "they" don't want you to know, but it turns out that cliche's often true. USA government folks have shown their eagerness to use dirty tricks to block access to places like Wikileaks. If we set up a domain-blocking system around here, it would be abused. So... I encourage you to visit http://americancensorship.org/ and use its handy web form to encourage your local legislators to vote down the proposed censorship laws.
