Frequently anticipated questions:
Q: OMG why the change?
A: I gotta think that a company that's an order of magnitude smaller is going to have less office politicking going on. (I keep hearing that Google has less office politics than other companies its size; I don't doubt it. But Google's the largest company I've worked for by far.)
Q: You just started writing about Google App Engine a few months ago. Are you saying that App Engine is a political nightmare that drove you away?
A: Nope. Actually, I recommend working with the App Engine team. Partly because I use App Engine for my hobby-programming, so I was able to apply things I learned on the job for fun stuff. Hey former co-workers: If you're a writer who writes web apps for fun, it's a darned good fit. In a company that values niceness and crankin' out features, you'll work with a group of engineers that's remarkably nice and cranks out some remarkable features.
Q: Is Twitter really better?
A: Probably. I guess? It's my first day.
Q: At Twitter, are you tech-writing or programming?
A: Writing.
Q: Do you have to keep the documentation under 140 characters?
A: Oh man, I wish I was that good.
