I liked Word Freak, a book about a reporter who studies up and becomes a champion Scrabble player. And I told some automated recommendation services that I liked it. Thus, those automated recommendation services thought I might like Postively Fifth Street, a book about a reporter who studies up and becomes a champion poker player. It's a sensible recommendation: this guy is a good writer. But in the end, Scrabble is awesome and Poker is dumb, so this book wasn't very compelling. (If you fail to realize that Poker is dumb, I bet you like this book, though.)
