Book Report: Russians: The People behind the Power

I went into this book thinking If Russians are so smart, why do they keep voting for the corrupt Putin? This book answered that question nicely. If I'd lived through what the typical Russian had, why wouldn't I take corruption for granted? Why would I expect anyone other than a gangster to be able to lead my country?

We hoped for the best, but it turns out as it always does.
