Team Mystic Fish and Team Snood showed up in front of Darcy in Todo Santos Park at about the same time. That was a good thing, since this was a puzzle which teams were supposed to solve in pairs. Darcy handed all of us a piece of paper and told us to go solve.
Sometimes, hanging out with a gamist, I think, "This guy's clever, but there's no way I'd want to be stuck in a van with him for 40 hours." The people of Team Snood were not like that--I could imagine spending 40 hours in a van with them and liking them better at the end. (They were clever, however.)
The puzzle was on the theme of team team-ups. There were pictures, and they solved to combos of team names. A taxi underwater was "BRINY TAXI", a combination of teams Briny Deep and Desert Flying Taxi. Snood had been combined with Blood and Bones (Rich Bragg's Team) to give SNOOD AND BONES. Well, there was a picture showing bones, plus a blood molecule with a big "Sn" in the middle. Close enough. A picture of goldfish crackers made HOLLOW FISH: a combination of the Hollow Men (Anna Hentzel's Team) with Mystic Fish. As we filled in our answers to these combo team names, some blanks on the answer sheet were marked. The letters on these marked blanks, put together, said: WHOS LEFT.
Teams Red 5 and XX-Rated weren't pictured. We combined XX with 5 to get 20 (Roman numerals) plus 5 = 25. And that was it. Darcy gave us our next puzzles. We bade Team Snood good luck.
