Back in high school, I hung out with Alex Soe, a kid who'd come to San Francisco from Burma (the country known nowadays as Myanmar). In the intervening decades, he moved away. But he was in town one week in June 2019, and he brought along a gift: packets of Platinum Myanmar Milk Tea.
I tried it out. The ingredients list had put me off: it starts with sugar, goes on to non-dairy creamer… But Alex says that, unlike in the USA, that list's order doesn't imply biggest-ingredient first. And indeed, I ended up with a mildly-sweet, mildly-flavored warm beverage, good in the kinds of situations where, e.g. Milo is good.
