Some mail to @lahosken.san-francisco.ca.us addresses isn't getting through. ("How much doesn't get through?" you ask. I'm not sure—as near as I can tell, the mail never gets far enough such that I'd see logs of it; like some machines "along the way" are dropping messages.) Lots and lots of email was getting through OK. But every so often, someone would nudge me for a reply to something I hadn't seen. Or reply-all to something that I hadn't seen. Every so often, I'd see a blog post from someone who had a vanity-domain address like mine mentioning similar issues.
Some of y'all liked @lahosken.san-francisco.ca.us addresses because you could mail just about anything@lahosken.san-francisco.ca.us and it would reach me. Here's a gmail pro tip: you can kinda do this with gmail addresses via the plus sign. E.g., to call me a goofus, mail lahosken+goofus@gmail.com and it'll reach me OK.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go back to updating my account info in about a million places, grrr.
