: New:

Understand: I grew up in a time of paper maps. I'd look at a map of some place and never think I could get from there to some other not-on-the-map place. Maybe those places were close; but whoever thought to go someplace not on the map one was looking at right then?

Last year, I walked most of the way around the bay. Along the way, I visited Sweeney Ridge and the SF Bay Discovery site. I came at them via San Bruno. But from that spot radiated other trails to other places.

Monday, I walked there from Pacifica; then walked down to San Bruno. The walk was nice; bunny rabbits and hummingbirds and dilapidated Nike Missile control buildings. But the thrill was moving from map to map. Passing through space previously ignored.
