When I walked past the UCSF Parnassus Emergency Room, its parking lot was overflowing with ambulances. An ambulance that didn't fit was parked in a nearby bus stop. As I kept walking, another ambulance pulled into that bus stop.

When I got home, I checked for news of an explosion or omicron outbreak or freeway pileup or what-have-you. Nothing's going on. I guess a lot of people coincidentally had medical emergencies at about the same time.

Don't mind me; I'll just be searching the internet for rituals to ward off bad luck is all.
