Oh gee whiz, my apartment building's hot water heater blew a gasket and they can't get a replacement soon because Xmas. So I don't have a way to take a hot shower before the big family gathering tomorrow.

On the other hand, my cousin caught some respiratory thing traveling to the bay area. So tomorrow's big family gathering will be a videoconference instead. As far as all my relatives know, I will smell just fine.

I guess that's good for saving face. I'd rather have a healthy cousin, tho.
