The COVID19 new case rate in San Francisco has been pretty low for about a week. Thus, yesterday I went to the comic book store for the first time since the omicron variant roared in. (I like comic books plenty, but I can't bring myself to call them essential.) Since comic books come out at regular intervals I can see it's been one, two, three months since my last visit. So I guess this surge lasted about 2½ months.
I remember when the omicron variant showed up in town, experts pointed to other cities that had endured it. There, the surge had been quick to rise and quick to fall. I don't know why it lingered longer here. I'm just glad it subsided.
