I check my little dashboard of San Francisco COVID-19 stats each morning. This morning, all the stats it tracks are above the pretty-safe line, i.e. things are looking un-safe out there. I've stopped going inside inessential-places with strangers; I'm getting groceries delivered; getting takeout food only from restaurants with takeout windows; forgoing going to SFMoMA even though there's an exhibit there I'd like to see, etc, etc.

I actually stopped doing all that going-inside-places-that-aren't-my-apartment stuff a week ago. I didn't blog about it then because the numbers were fluttering around so much. I kept hoping that the numbers would come down again and then I'd look silly for blogging one day "I'm stopping going places" and then the next day "Olly olly oxen free; plz invite me to your least essential events!!" The numbers are still fluttering plenty; but they've been fluttering up more often than wafting down.
