If you're still on Twitter and been thinking, "I'll move over to Mastodon eventually; and when I do there are automatic tools that will help my Twitter-followers follow my new account," then you want to re-think the second half of that sentence. For several weeks (a few months?), Elon's threatened to shut down the API that let those automatic tools do their thing. But each time he tried, all of Twitter stopped working for everybody. So he had to turn the API back on again, and the tools started working again. But a few days back, I noticed that FediFinder, the tool that I used, stopped working. I guess that API shut down and the rest of Twitter didn't totally break this time.
(Twitter's still in pretty bad shape these days. If you post something, you're not really sure your followers will see it; if you're following someone, you're not really sure you're gonna see their posts. But the recent API change didn't break things so totally that you can't see and/nor post anything, a relative triumph.)
Anyhow, if I know you and you're on Twitter and you move over to another social network, I hope you take a look at https://lahosken.san-francisco.ca.us/self/contact/, see if I'm on that new social network, and follow me there. Don't assume that some automatic tool will re-connect us; those tools went away.
