Welp, when I blogged about forgoing Starbuck's coffee because of their shutting down all their recently-unionized stores in Ithaca, I wasn't completely off-base: A judge found Starbucks had indeed broken the law. But but a closer-to-home Starbucks, the one at 9th and Irving, just filed papers to hold a vote on whether or not to unionize. So now I guess I'll go to that Starbucks.
Well, I'll go there sometimes. There's another coffee shop just a half-block away, the Beanery, that I like better. But but Starbucks opens earlier, and I'm a morning person. So if I'm in the neighborhood between 05:00 and 06:00 in the morning, I'll go to Starbucks. (You think I'm saying something like "when pigs fly", but I am that enough of a morning person to head out for an exercise walk starting at 05:00, and I went to that Starbucks on Monday morning, so… Anyhow.)
Ideally, the Starbucks on my block would unionize. I guess my brain can handle ten levels of if-then-else logic to figure out where I'm drinking coffee each morning, but I don't know if my brain can handle it before I've had coffee.
