Some good news: Filling out a blood donation questionnaire this morning, it didn't ask me about gay sex. (I noticed a new question like Have you had a new sex partner in the past three months? instead. I guess that's the new "What's your HIV risk?" question.) So I searched around and found an announcement: "New Inclusive Screening Process Expands Blood Donor Eligibility"
I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen an announcement in the news. Maybe it's taking a while to roll out the change across the country and they didn't want to make a big deal about it before some places were ready? (I'm donating at Vitalant in San Francisco, FWIW.)
The questionnaire still asks about sex assigned at birth. I dunno whether that's the blood people being weird or if there's a difference between boy-blood and girl-blood. Anyhow.
