Excerpt from mail sent while I lived and worked in Berkeley:
Backup services are vital.
I was up late last night beta-testing that MPath internet game thingy. Tired when I woke up this morning, and i knew there was just one batch's worth of coffee beans left in the office.
I screwed up making the coffee. There was no fire, no injury, no damage. However, at the end, there was no coffee. Fortunately, Au Coquelet was just two short blocks away. I got a cup of coffee. And, to buffer my stomach so that it could handle the coffee, I got a latte.
And they were really, really good. It's days like this when I'm glad I don't work in San Ramon.
