If this puzzle had stages, maybe parking in a one-hour zone hadn't been the best move after all. We got back in the van and parked it at the garage next to the PowerBar building. Then it was time to leave the parking garage.
On weekdays, the door between that garage and the PowerBar building is unlocked. This was a Saturday, and that exit was locked. But there was a sign pointing us to another exit. We and a family with a stroller were thus beguiled into a strange maze of passageways, doors, and stairs. I'm pretty sure that, thanks to stairs, our path passed under itself at least once. We stumbled around in passageways that seemed like they were in the underbelly of the garage. After a while, we emerged into passageways that seemed like they were in the underbelly of an office building. When we saw sunlight, the family's mom yelped for joy. We emerged into Constitution Plaza, next to the Downtown Berkeley BART station main entrance.
At the main entrance to the Downtown Berkeley BART station, someone in a Taft t-shirt told us to go to Naia Gelateria and order a particular combination of six flavors. At the gelateria, we were on the lookout for Braille. And sure enough, by looking at the tubs of gelato, and treating our "order" as dots, there was a Braille pattern. We were soon gone, not even bothering to order gelato. We entered the word into our PDA and it told us to head back to the BART station lady again.
