Lawrence Hosken: Departures: New York Times

In late October, 1998, I went to New York City for the first time. I was vacationing with my parents in a whirlwind tour of NYC, Washington DC, and Loudon TN. While there, we took in the sights and visited with my friend Bryan, who was doing some post-grad math research at CUNY.

I'm not going tell everything that happened. Most of my friends have already been to New York, not much of it would be new to them. And do you really want to hear how I spent three hours in the Egyptian section of the Metropolitan Museum?

Still, some things happened. Arguably interesting things.
