Yosemite 2009: Snowy Patch at top of Yosemite Falls Trail

I was there in early October. It wasn't crowded--the summer crowds were gone. But this was a "risky" time to be there--there was some snow on the ground. If the year had been a little wetter and a little colder, the trails might have been covered in snow, not so great for a non-mountaineer city slicker like myself to walk on.
