On the way from Pohono Bridge to El Capitan, I saw this strange thing in the ground. I guess it was some kind of storm drain. It wasn't really where you'd expect to see a storm drain, though. Well, not if you're a naive person such as me. We were far from the buildings, just out by some trail through some trees, a ways up above a road. Are there storm drainage systems tucked away in hidden places for miles around the built-up part of the valley? Maybe this is what folks mean when they say Yosemite is the "Disneylandification of nature". How much of what you see here is "real"?
