Frivolity: Japanese Music: Balzac

From the "Who asked You?" Department, it's my opinion of Balzac.

What I've heard:
(some album whose name has lots of kanji and might be Zennou-naru Musuu-no Me ha Shi wo Yubi Sasu) (album, DIW Phalanx)
Gross Generalization:
Punk.
Rambling:
This is punk, but it seems kind of listless. I get a lot of people showing up at my web site because they're searching for information about this band. I don't understand why this band would be so popular. Why Balzac? Why not Brahman?

Maybe I do. Looking at the album art, I think maybe (maybe) this band performs while dressed up in skeleton costumes on a heavily decorated stage. (Or maybe they just did that for this album?) So maybe they put on an interesting live show, if you want to see a lot of costumes and disturbing staging.

Or maybe I just happened to pick up their worst album ever? I dunno.

I don't think I'll listen to any more Balzac unless someone tells me why I should.

(Update: Chris George told me why I should. I still don't like Balzac. But if you're interested in a second opinion, go to the comment page. I think Chris George also likes Danzig. Maybe if you like Danzig, you'll also like Balzac. I don't know. I miss HOMR/RINGO.)
