: New:

This happy chart illustrates a web server not falling over as twenty-something teams pile on to play Lumber Party:

That's requests-per-second. The spike shows the time around 10:30am, when everyone was entering the start code and excitedly clicking on the first puzzle. I was clicking around, too…and was pretty happy when the site didn't fail. (Yes, the server demonstrated some resilience when someone dictionary-attacked the #terngame. But #terngame teams didn't log in. I wasn't sure how well the logged-in behavior worked with many logged-in teams active at the same time.) (More than 20-something teams played, but they didn't all show up at the very start.) (From all these parenthetical remarks, can you tell this is one of those blog posts that's basically a note to myself of stuff I want to remember later? Anyhow.)
