: New: Oh hi, Mark

Happy March! It is #EnigMarch, and each day the excellent EnigMarch people post a prompt word; then puzzle nerds try to design puzzles around that word. (Today's word is sign.) That's kind of neat, if you think of a sign as a "mark." It sounds kinda like "March" and Wikipedia says that's not a coincidence:

In medieval Europe… a march was a border between realms… It seems that in Old English "mark" meant "boundary" or "sign of a boundary", and the meaning only later evolved to encompass "sign" in general, "impression" and "trace".

Anyhow, I suppose it would be appropriate for you to solve this slitherlink, finding the boundary, and then note which letter-marks are within. They should spell a word.

Hints and solution:

The Wikipedia article about slitherlinks has a pleasantly-surprising amount of advice on solving them.

If you're not having fun but nevertheless feel compelled to solve, there are automatic slitherlink solvers out there.

If you want the answer, follow this here link to see the solution.
