: New: Book Report: The Mother of all Questions

It's a collection of feminist essays by Rebecca Solnit. There's a lot of good stuff in here. E.g. advice on what to do if someone asks you a strange question and your Spidey-sense thinks they might be asking in bad faith: Instead of scrambling to answer, say "Why are you asking that?" I didn't get a ton out of this book, in the same way I watched the movie "Casablanca" and thought Well, this "great film" is just one cliché after another. Of course, that's because "Casablanca" inspired later films. These essays drove the discourse back in the day. Reading them now, I thought This is well-written, but where's the insight? Of course, that's because I've been hearing these ideas for the past several years. The insight was there; I just read spoilers in the form of people repeating these ideas.
